Floating Solar

Floating Solar Solutions

Sri Lanka has a stated intention to make electricity generation 100% renewable as rapidly as possible and before 2050.

This would require an additional 8,000-10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity within this decade.

Floating solar can be implemented quickly to meet these objectives.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will require larger installations to include storage – for peak shaving, smoothening fluctuations in output and to support the evening peak demand.

Benefits of Floating Solar Panels

Utilisation of idle space

Less evaporation and algae bloom

Increased water cooling efficiency of the panels
